I did the residential bread making course with my friend Hattie. We both had beautiful double rooms, all meals included as well as the odd bottle of wine. It was just us. Wow it was great, a great break too. It’s like going to the home of a friend’s friend who really knows their stuff and has been persuaded to give you full on attention as a special favour. I don’t know where else you can experience this. Frankly, I hadn’t a clue where to begin and now I’m done with shop bought. Got sent home with an E-Copy of their books, a boot full of different breads and crackers, a new love of pizza, my own sourdough starter and a grin as wide as a french bread basket. And oh! the memories. Cannot recommend highly enough. Unique and more than worth it.

Do take time to read Alison Boulton’s article “Using Your Loaf” on bread making classes. I can personally vouch for the quality (and variety) of the bread made at the Love Loaves bakery, as I have just finished a tasty sandwich made from one of their loaves.

I have really enjoyed your on line break making course – it was so easy and fail safe to follow.  The book is brilliant and I loved all the pictures which showed me step by step what to do and what to expect.  As you can see from the picture of me and my husband who did the course with me – we made some fantastic bread which we ate for breakfast this morning with our friend who is visiting.  Delicious.

CLARE-CAROLYN-003Here’s a photo of my usual Friday bake, so you know I’m not slacking off. All the loaves seem to go now — the neighbours, and even our cleaning lady, buy most of them. As soon as I organise myself to do some overnight retardation, I’ll bump up production.

Thank you so very much for a really super class! I am so full of confidence that I really can make fantastic bread. You made me believe that it is not as hard as I imagined. You are both very ‘people persons’ – you made us feel very comfortable, and the bread is DELICIOUS !!!

I just wanted to say thanks for the very helpful course. I had a very good day and learned a lot about bread making. I have made quite a few attempts since then and my girlfriend says they are very tasty!

Joanna-Anna-Zoe-Jill-001Thank you so very much for a fantastic day with you both learning to make Sourdough breads. I haven’t bought bread since, and am still loving making my own bread so many thanks. I also just had a really great day. I felt relaxed, comfortable and immersed in what you were teaching me. And lunch and a glass of wine at lunchtime also felt very civilised! I have recommended your days to many people, and hope to return for another lesson on yeasted breads some time before you act on your plans to relocate far away from Oxford.

Thank you so much for this weekend. The baking was a real thrill, not only because we learnt so much in such a short space of time but we had lots of fun doing it. We’ve come away feeling really confident about baking bread at home, which is fantastic and not an experience you can get from reading a book. Thanks also for making our stay so comfortable and relaxed. We wish you lots of success for the future!

We came back to London last night with delicious loaves, a big grin and something somewhat more undefinable, but equally powerful: inspiration. We’ve fed the mother, shopped online for the kit, even had a bread based dinner – we just couldn’t have enough! Thank you for being such wonderful friends and for sharing your magic with us.

B-Mary-Chris-Katie-002Your wonderful bread making vison is inspirational – and you make it so realisable with expert guidance and such a pleasant atmosphere to work with you in – fabulous! I have been recommending your courses for birthday presents – especially for men who don’t usually cook – or alternatively are madly keen. I still want my three children (12, 14 and 16) to experience a morning of bread-making magic with you…

Thank you both for an inspirational course. Thank you for welcoming me and sharing your bakery tips with me, the course is abundant in practical skills!  I can’t wait to get going! You’ve inspired me in many ways.
Many thanks, Ishtar.

John-Sophie-Karen-005Penny and Dragan’s course is perfect for learning everything you need to know about bread making in a way that is simple, easy to understand plus lots of fun!

A big thank you for your course. I’ve been thinking about baking for a living for a long time and at last I can see a way of making a go of this at the micro level without excessive risk. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and experience so generously!

Thank you so much for such an inspirational course. I could hardly sleep with all of the possibilities going round in my head! I’m going to start with putting an oven in my shed and giving bread to friends and colleagues to gauge reaction and get some practice. My husband Peter and daughter Hayley were completely bowled over by the bread!

Just a little note to thank you very much for a fantastic day today, I enjoyed every second of it and I am still re-living every moment in my head. I cannot tell you how excited I am about starting off on my own, I’d bake all tonight if I knew I had customers already lined up for the morning!
